Topping:
3 C. fresh strawberries, washed and chopped
1 tsp. lemon juice
3/4 C. sugar
Base:
1/2 C. melted butter
1 C. self rising flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 C. sugar
1 C. milk
Combine the strawberries, sugar and lemon juice, set aside. Combine the flour and sugar, stir in the remaining ingredients. Pour the base into a 2 quarts lighly buttered casserole dish. Spread around to cover then top by spooning the strawberries over the base. Do not stir, place in a 375 degree oven for 25-30 minutes.
