Ingredients
24 large shrimp peeled and deveined
1 large egg
1/2 C. milk
2 T. hot sauce
1 C. all purpose flour
3/4 C. italian breadcrumbs
1 T. my house seasoning (equal parts garlic powder, onion powder and pepper...combine and store in an airtight container)
1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
vegetable oil for frying
Directions
Take the shrimp and sliding a knife down the back, butterfly them open, set aside. In a bowl combine the egg, milk and hot sauce. In another bowl combine the flour, breadcrumbs, and seasonings. Take each shrimp and dredge in the flour mixture, then the egg and then back in the flour. Place on a baking sheet and repeat with remaining shrimp. Heat 1/2" of oil in a large iron skillet to 325 degrees. Fry the shrimp in batches till golden brown, turning as they cook. Remove and drain on a paper sack or paper towel lined plate.
