Ingredients
1 1/2 C. warm tap water
2 tsp. instant yeast
2 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. garlic powder
2 tsp. italian seasoning
3 C. all purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1 T. melted butter
parmesan cheese
1/4 C. shredded cheddar cheese
Directions
Add the water, yeast and sugar to the bowl of a stand mixer. Allow to sit for 5-6 minutes so it can foam up (if it doesn't then the yeast is bad). Add in the garlic powder, italian seasoning, flour and lastly the salt. Begin to mix using a dough hook until it begins to pull away from the sides of the bowl. Turn out onto a floured surface and knead for 3 minutes. Divide the dough into 4 equal portions and roll out into a 4x6 rectangle. Roll each portion into a log, pinching the bottom seam together, and place seam side down on a lightly greased baking sheet. Cover with a clean towel and allow to rise for 1 hour. Make a few slits in the top of each loaf and the brush with some butter. Sprinkle a little parmesan cheese and cheddar cheese over the top. Place an ovenproof bowl of hot water on a rack in the bottom of your oven. Bake the loaves on the middle rack in a 375 degree oven for 20 minutes, they should sound hollow when you tap on them.
